Dixi Ragtime

Here you will find a mixture of Dixieland jazz music, folk styles and the syncopated piano rhythms of Ragtime. Dixieland is a style of Jazz also known as New Orleans Jazz and Hot Jazz with it's origins in New Orleans it quickly became popular the 1910s. Also from New Orleans, Ragtime is a style of syncopated piano playing (meaning to be played ragged) made popular in 1900's. Both Dixieland Jazz and Ragtime get their influences from traditional folk music and the march.
